Department of Crop Science

Provides an impressive array of courses under several major sub-disciplines namely; field crops, plantation crops, horticultural crops, floriculture, forestry and landscape architecture, protected culture, hydroponics, organic agriculture, agronomical and physiological aspects of crops and necessary management skills. In addition, a separate discipline of biostatistics & mathematics is offered to improve the quantitative skills of the students. Another dominant feature is the wide exposure to practical aspects of agriculture comprising of on-Cropfarm training, extensive field visits throughout the four years, along with industrial training in agricultural and allied industries in the seventh semester.

Postgraduate programmes are also offered in some of the subject areas listed above by the board of study in Crop Science.
