An Overview of the Department  
 

The Department of Oral Pathology started to function as a separate department in 1990 after having existed combined with the Department of Oral Surgery from 1980. The department is responsible for teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students Oral Pathology which involves study of basic pathological aspects of all oral diseases.

The division of General Pathology is responsible for the basic foundation course in Pathology where the causation, progression and outcome of diseases are taught. In addition to teaching, the department provides the only Oral Maxillofacial reporting service to the entire country and also has all the facilities for modern research such as immunohistochemistry and molecular biological techniques.
