A team of students from the department has won the Sri Lankan finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup Software Design Competition, 2011. Now they will move to the world final to be held in New York, in July this year.
The team members, all from E/07 batch, are Lahiru Senadheera, Madushanka Upendra, Lakshitha Herath and Dinushan Madhushanka.

One of the four technical papers presented from our department at the Fifth International Conference on Information and Automation for Sustainability (ICIAfS2010) won the best student paper award for the ICT & Social Transformation Track.

A student group from E/07 of the department who participated in Motorola Enterprise Mobility Development Competition won the second prize. Their project was titled "Mobile Solution For Civil Engineers" and the project was supervised by Dr. Elkaduwe.
