To be a centre of excellence, both in Sri Lanka and within the Asia region, for teaching, research and outreach activities on farm animal production and health.
Mission
TTo impart knowledge, skills and attitudes on farm animal production and health to veterinary undergraduates and postgraduates, in order to enable them to maintain the productivity, reproductive efficiency, health and welfare of farm, aquatic and wild animals. The mission also includes providing services to the public on various aspects, including advice, disease prevention, control and treatment, conducting continuing education programmes for veterinarians and other stakeholders in the livestock sector, functioning as a national referral centre and conducting research aimed at improving farm animal production and health.
