Overview
The core function of the Capital Works Division is to take timely action to implement the New Construction & Rehabilitation projects which are stipulated in the Master Plan of the University and the Annual Procurement plan to achieve the target on time and to improve the infrastructure facilities contributing to achieving the goals and objectives inspired by the University of Peradeniya. The functions of the division are to facilitate the project proposals preparation process as per the standard formats, obtain approval from internal and external authorities to implement the capital and rehabilitation project proposals, prepare Bidding documents, call quotations for Construction & Rehabilitation Projects, and facilitate Technical evaluation committees, liaise with the University Grants Commission and Ministry of Higher Education on behalf of the University, awarding of contracts, preparation of capital and rehabilitation projects related budgets and procurement plan, verifying projects claims for payment, facilitating the Land Building & Maintenance Committee (LBMC) and Infrastructure Development Management Committee (IDMC), etc.
