Activities carried out by the Centre for Quality Assurance, the University of Peradeniya during the year 2021

1. By laws related to the IQA of the university

The Council, at its 502nd meeting held on 27th February 2021, approved the By-Laws relating to Internal Quality Assurance of the University.

2. Development of the Mission & Vision Statements of the UoP

The Council, at its 503rd meeting held on 04th April 2021, approved the revised Mission and Vision statements of the University, processed through the CQA.

3. Development of the Mission & Vision of the Centre for Quality Assurance

The Council, at its 503rd meeting held on 04th April 2021, approved the Mission and Vision statements of the CQA, processed through the CQA.

4. Management Guide of the University of Peradeniya - Revision 2020

Approved by the Council at its 506th meeting held on 24.07.2021

5. A Coding System for documentation of the University of Peradeniya

Approved by the Council at its 509th meeting held on 30.10.2021

6. E-Document archival system for the University of Peradeniya

E-Document archival system for the University of Peradeniya was developed targeting the IR. The Management Committee of CQA has appointed a 06 member committee to work on the E-Document Archive System for the University of Peradeniya using Google Drive.

7. Development of templates

The Senate and Council has approved the following templates prepared by the CQA to be used by all Faculties, PGIs and CDCE

  1. The Common Template of the Academic Transcript approved by the Senate at its 460th Meeting held on 09th June 2021
  2. The Format & Guidelines for Submitting New Courses to the ADPC & Senate (approved by the Council at its 463rd Meeting held on 30th October 2021)
  3. A template to submit revised/new curricula/courses for approval through the Academic Development Planning Committee & the Senate
  4. A Staff Recruitment and Training Plan of Academic Departments, Centres, Units, and Divisions (approved by the Council at its 509th Meeting held on 30th October 2021)
  5. A template to develop SOPs of the University
  6. A template for requesting progress reports based on the annual action plan
  7. A revised template for the strategic plan of entities of the University
  8. A revised template for the annual action plan of the entities of the University
  9. A template to submit examiners for approval of the Senate

9. Other Contributions
  • The Director contributed as a member of the ADPC and Senate
  • The Director contributed as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee of the University
  • The Director contributed as a committee member to develop a proposal to establish a Division of Academic Affairs and restructuring the functions and divisions related to Academic Affairs.
  • The Director is appointed as a committee member to examine irregularities in the past several years related to the institutional mechanism and suggest implementation at the Senate level.
  • The Director drafted a document to the Senate explaining the roles of the first examiner, second examiner, and moderator.
