SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
All the authors who submit manuscripts to Ceylon Journal of Science are strongly requested to follow the Instructions to Authors. Manuscripts that are not prepared according to the instructions given by the journal will be rejected without further processing.
Author’s requirement to sign in ORCID
Authors need to sign up for ORCID and submit their ORCID numbers to the journal at the
time of submission of the manuscript. More information on ORCID is available is at
Impartiality and Integrity
Reviewer comments and conclusions should be based on an objective and impartial consideration of the facts, exclusive of being bias personally or professionally. All comments by reviewers should be based solely on the paper’s scientific merit, originality, and quality of writing as well as on its Relevance to Scope of the journal.
Timeliness and Responsiveness
Reviewers are responsible for acting promptly, adhering to the instructions provided, and completing the review within the requested time frame of 3 weeks. For detailed guidelines to reviewers of scientific journal publications please visit: councilscienceeditors.org
Corresponding author should submit the following documents to the Managing Editor:
1. Cover letter
2. Title page
3. Graphical Abstract
4. Research Highlights
5. Main document - Manuscript file (including the abstract and a set of coloured and black and white Figures and Tables)
6. Second set of identical figures for print version (more figures prepared in black and white)
7. Names of three suggested reviewers with their contact details
8. Copyright Transfer Agreement signed by all authors
9. Data availability statement (Whether all relevant data are included/used in the manuscript OR available on request from corresponding author).
As part of the initial submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the above items and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
In the cover letter to the Managing Editor, the corresponding author should state that:
1. The manuscript has not been previously published, nor it is submitted for consideration by another journal,
2. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
The corresponding author should submit a soft copy of the manuscript (in word format) along with other documents in the checklist by e-mail to Managing Editor including the signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (can be downloaded from the CJS website (copyrights) signed by all authors. Where relevant, the author(s) should provide evidence for an ethical clearance certificate obtained for using humans oranimals in the experiment(s) that are included in the manuscript.

Open Access Policy
Ceylon Journal of Science provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that
making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of

Submitting the Revised Manuscript after attending to Reviewers’
After receiving comments from the reviewers, the reviewers’ comments will be sent to the
corresponding author for revising the manuscript. The manuscript should be revised by the
authors using a word processing programme. The changes to the original manuscript should
be indicated in the original manuscript by using colored fonts or highlighted text parts. In
addition, a separate document giving Answers one by one to Reviewers’ Comments should
be prepared and sent along with the revised manuscript. In the revised manuscript also, the
figures and tables should be placed in their proper places within the body text of the
manuscript. No changes to the original manuscript must be made other than as replies to the
reviewers’ comments and suggestions.
It’s the responsibility of the corresponding author to get the consent of all authors of themanuscript for the revisions made, before sending it to email@example.com. This will then be copyedited by the editors, prior to sending it back to the authors for final proof reading.
Accepted articles are published online and also as a printed version.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
