Prof. Rohana Chandrajith’s achievement to TWAS Fellowship: Prof. Rohana Chandrajith has achieved a remarkable milestone by being elected as a Fellow to The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) in the field of Earth Climate and Environmental Science, a prestigious recognition. This accomplishment is part of the induction of 47 new Fellows into TWAS ( 47 new Fellows elected to TWAS), contributing to a total membership exceeding 1,400. The official commencement of their membership is scheduled for January 1, 2024.

Their outstanding contributions have led to the well-deserved acknowledgment of the group as the World Centre of Excellence in Landslide Disaster Reduction. The International Consortium of Landslides (ICL) has further honored the Engineering Geology Research Group by appointing it as a Board member of the ICL, signifying a significant recognition of the group and the Department of Geology substantial contributions to Landslide Research.
