The first programme of the Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education in 2024 was started on 05 th February, 2024. There are thirty academic staff members in this group from different Faculties of the university including library staff. The inauguration ceremony was held with the participation of Prof.Terrence Madhujith, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor; Dr. W.D. Chandrasena, the Director of the Staff Development Centre; Prof. Rasnayake Mudiyanse and Prof. Chalinda Beneragama, The former Directors; Dr. Chandana Jayawardhana, the Director of Human Resource Development Unit; Dr. PriyangaWijesinghe, a former Acting Director of the Staff Development Centre; Dr. Chandima Herath, The Chief Medical Officer and Dr. Kapila Wijerathne, a resource person of the programme. This programme will be conducted for ten weeks under ten modules to empower and enrich young academics to become role models at the university.
