The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya, successfully held the inauguration ceremony for the 2024/25 batch on 20 January 2026 at the Diamond Jubilee Hall, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The occasion was graced by Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Prof. M. D. M. L. D. K. Yatawara, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, who introduced the faculty’s academic programs and highlighted its commitment to nurturing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals. This was followed by the keynote address delivered by the Vice-Chancellor, who emphasized the vital role of higher education in shaping students’ futures and their responsibility to contribute meaningfully to society.
Adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the event, senior students performed traditional dance.
The inauguration ceremony marked an important milestone for the new intake, formally welcoming students to the University of Peradeniya and laying a strong foundation for their academic and professional journey in the field of allied health sciences.
