As a part of the university’s open day celebration, the Joint Research and Demonstration Centre (JRDC) and the Business Linkage, Innovation, Incubation, and Technology Transfer Office (BLII-TTO) organized a highly engaging program aimed at fostering collaboration between academia and industry as well as showcasing water and environmental research facilities at JRDC. This program specifically targeted industrialists representing the BOI industrial zone in Kundasale, Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Central Province (CCICP). Also, the key officials representing BOI, CCICP, National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Central Environmental Authority (CEA), JRDC, and BLII-TTO attended this event.
The primary objective of this event was to identify new collaborative opportunities that can drive innovation and create mutually beneficial partnerships for promoting new startup enterprises targeting export/local market-oriented new product development in the Central Province. It served as a platform for industry professionals to interact with the university’s research community, exchange ideas, and explore potential avenues for joint ventures and research collaborations. By bringing together academia and industry, the event aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, leading to the development of impactful solutions and technologies.
In addition to fostering collaborative discussions, the program also showcased a range of innovative inventions developed by the university. These pioneering solutions demonstrated the university’s commitment to cutting-edge research and technology development.
Also, the participants had an opportunity to visit the highly sophisticated laboratories and other facilities available at the JRDC and learn about using those facilities for the benefit of the industrial sector. The event was jointly organized by the JRDC and BLII-TTO, two key institutes within the university that actively promote research, innovation, and technology transfer. The collaboration ensured the seamless coordination and successful execution of the program, making it a truly enriching experience for all participants. The program highlighted the importance of academia-industry collaboration in driving economic growth and societal development. As an outcome of the event members suggested forming a committee to facilitate healthy connectivity between industries, the University, and JRDC.
