Dr. Vasily Fivesky, the Rector of the Moscow Metropolitan Governance University, Government of Moscow and Heads of Moscow Hospitals, visited the University of Peradeniya on 2nd December 2022. The rector and other delegates were welcomed by Prof. MD. Lamawansa, Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya. The vice president of the University Grant Commission, the Deans of the Faculties, the Director of the International Relations Office, and the heads of the departments participated in the event.
Dr. Vasily Fivesky, the Rector of the Moscow Metropolitan Governance University, has conducted a session titled “Selection System and Method of Training of Moscow City Administrative Staff and the Role of the Moscow Metropolitan Government University in these matters”. Senior administrative officers of the University of Peradeniya and undergraduates of the Faculty of Management who study the subjects of ‘Public Sector Accounting’ and ‘Public Sector Management’ participated in the session. The Vice-Chancellor discussed possible collaborations between the Moscow Metropolitan Governance University and the University of Peradeniya. Afterward, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the vice chancellor’s office between the Moscow Metropolitan Governance University, Russia, and the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Dr. Vasily Fivesky expressed his interest in consolidating strong collaborations with the university in the various fields discussed.
