The University of Peradeniya has signed an agreement with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (Pvt) Ltd (Sri Lanka) on October 3, 2025, at the Senate Room. This agreement aims to promote collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and enhanced student opportunities through internships and career guidance.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Zhang Wenji, Vice President of the South Asia Division; Mr. Ai Shiqiang, Deputy General Manager of the General Management Department; Mr. Cao Zhengkun; and Mr. Nipun Nupearachchi, Manager of the Human Resources Division from CSCEC (Sri Lanka). Representing the University of Peradeniya were Vice Chancellor Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Lilantha Samaranayake, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering Prof. Kushan Wijesundara, along with academic staff members.
This partnership is expected to strengthen industry–academia linkages and create new avenues for advancing sustainable engineering knowledge and practice.
