An MOU was signed between the University of Peradeniya and the Ministry of Agriculture Land Irrigation, Animal Production & Health, Fisheries and Agrarian Development (Western Province) for collaborative research and development activities, knowledge transfer, student training and mutual benefits to the two parties. Under this MOU , intended works will be carried, under seven training centers operates under the ministry (District Agriculture Training Center – Homagama, District Agriculture Training Centre, Ambepussa, In service Training Center, Bombuwala, District Agriculture Training Center – Horana, District Agriculture Training Center – Walpita, Kotadeniyawa Animal Husbandry Training Center, Pitipana Aquaculture Development Center)
The Deputy and the Acting Vice-chancellor, Prof WM. Terrence Madujith, Prof. BC. Jayawardena (Head/Dept. of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture), Prof. RMC. Deshapriya (Former Head/Dept. of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture Dr P. Weththasingha (Dept. of Animals Science, Faculty of Agriculture) from the University of Peradeniya and Dr KK. Sarath, Provincial Director, Provincial Department of Animal Production and Health participated the event held on 28th February 2023 at Vice-chancellors office, University of Peradeniya.
