“Lekhanawali” – A book consists of collection of scholarly articles of Emeritus Professor P.B. Meegaskumbura , Department of Sinhala, Faculty of Arts, was launched 25th August, 2020 at the Senate Room, University of Peradeniya. The Vice Chancellor - Professor Upul B. Dissanayake , Deputy Vice Chancellor -Professor Parakrama Karunaratna, The Acting Dean, Faculty of Arts Prof. Ariyarathne Herath, Professor Emeritus K.N.O. Dharmadasa, Prof. Emeritus Gananatha Obesekera and a large number of Heads of Departments /Professors/Retired Professors/ from various universities participated in this event. The “Lekhanawali” has been edited by Rev. Aparekke Sirisudharma, Rev. Pitathalawe Wimalasara, and Rev. Dambulle Sudava from Department of Sinhala and Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Peradeniya/Ruhuna. The “collection of Articles of Prof. Meegaskumbura” is a Bi-Lingual book and it is divided in to three major parts as part I, II and III. The part I is devoted to the appreciation of the services done by Prof. Meegaskumbura including five articles. Part II includs 71 scholarly articles and part III consists of translated articles by Prof. Meegaskumbura. Professor Emeritus K.N.O. Dharmadasa and Professor Sandagomi Koparahewa, Head / Department of Sinhala, University of Colombo were the key note speakers and the Vice Chancellor / Acting Dean also addressed the gathering.
