SLJCR Workshop and Seminar

The “Bridge to Japan” workshop organized by the Sri Lanka Japan Study Center and International affairs Office as a prelude to the SLJCR 2018 conference was held on the 31st of August, 2018, at the Postgraduate Institute of Science from 9 am to 12 am. The workshop was aimed at encouraging and providing advice to university academics to form research partnerships with Japanese researchers to produce collaborative research. The workshop was graced by Prof. Parakrama Karunaratne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Prof. Ananda Kumara of Meijo University, Prof N.S. Cooray of International University of Japan, Prof. Ken Kawamoto of Saitama University, Ms. Thilina Kumari Kandanamulla of the National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka. The event culminated in a fruitful panel discussion session moderated by Prof. Ananda Kumara.
The “Seminar on Higher Education Opportunities in Japan” workshop organized by the Sri Lanka Japan Study Center and International affairs Office as a prelude to the SLJCR 2018 conference was held on the 31st of August, 2018, at the Postgraduate Institute of Science from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. The workshop was aimed at encouraging and providing advice to students to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate higher studies in Japan. The workshop was graced by Prof. Saliya De Silva of Saga University, Mr. Toru Wada of International University of Japan, Mr. Tanaka Kiyotaki, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Sri Lanka and Prof. Ken Kawamoto from Saitama University. The event culminated in a fruitful panel discussion session moderated by Prof. Buddhi Marambe.
