Meeting held between the Delegates from Incheon National University (INU), Republic of Korea and University of Peradeniya (UoP)

Deputy Vice- Chancellor, UoP welcomed the delegation to the UoP and presented a general introduction on the University to the gathering.
Prof. Dong-Sung Cho, afterward declared that he was more than delighted to initiate collaborations with UoP Sri Lanka. At his address it was also revealed that the father of Prof. Dong-Sung Cho has dedicated his service as a former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka and he also has pleasant memories and experiences owning to his father’s professional background.
Prof. Janaka Ekanayake and Prof. Manjula Fernando later briefed on the research areas and the disciplines in relation to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering that could also be taken into another step.
Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana elucidated the other collaboration between the Republic of Korea and UoP.
Two delegates presented two descriptive videos to the assembly, one on the INU and the other on the adaptation of the international students to their study and social backgrounds at the INU.
Consequently, it was mention that the INU is currently upholding several educational opportunities for UoP including both staff and student exchange programs and it was requested to send students and the staff members for these programs. And latterly, a letter of intent was signed between the two parties, as an initial step for the further process.
