The University of Peradeniya Library is proud to participate in the European Union–funded ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project, NSIS – Developing Information, Research and Digital Skills for Business, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal (ERASMUS+ CBHE Contract No.: 101179133). This multi-country project aims to strengthen information literacy, research competencies, and digital skills in higher education institutions, with a special focus on business, innovation, and entrepreneurship education.
Project Overview
Funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ Programme, the NSIS project brings together universities and partner organizations from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Europe. The project enhances institutional capacity by developing sustainable digital learning solutions and promoting skills essential for academic and professional excellence. University libraries, including UoP Library, play a key role as centers of information literacy, research support, and digital skills development.
One of the most exciting components of the NSIS project is the development of ten comprehensive curricular modules, offering structured content and supporting resources. These modules cover essential areas such as study skills, libraries and digital information, business and management research, academic and business writing, publication in online environments, transferable soft skills, intellectual property and copyright, innovation and research commercialization, employability and career development, and key leadership and management skills for career success. Together, these modules provide a structured framework to enhance the knowledge, research capabilities, and employability of graduates across partner institutions.
