The Welcoming Ceremony for new student enrollments in the Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya, was successfully held on June 26, 2023, at the Gymnasium. The event was organized by the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with the Senior Student Counselors within the faculty. It was an auspicious occasion graced by distinguished guests and invitees, including the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. MD. Lamawansa, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. WM. Terrence Madujith, and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Kumari Thoradeniya.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was an inspirational speech delivered by Prof. Arjuna Parakrama, which resonated with the audience. Additionally, the cultural performances showcased a diverse range of dances representing various cultural backgrounds, and a stage drama performed by the students. These captivating performances created a platform that allowed the newcomers, guests, and parents to truly experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Peradeniya.
