The Business Linkage, Innovation, Incubation and Technology Transfer Office (BLII-TTO) of the University of Peradeniya in collaboration with the International Finance Cooperation (IFC) has organized the “PERA TECH DISRUPT 2K22” competition targeted at student innovators, and innovators among university staff, as a means to provide them with a common platform to pitch their innovations and to expose them to the commercial market. The main objective of this competition is to provide innovators with an opportunity to improve their knowledge in the field of startup entrepreneurship and technology transfer. By the closing date of applications, the competition received 20+ innovation applications.
As the next step of the competition, the BLII-TTO organized a Masterclass series with the intention of bridging the knowledge gap between the inventor and the investor. The Masterclass series commenced on the 20th of January 2023 in the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. WM. Terrance Madhujith, and concluded on the 02nd of February 2023. The series consisted of nine two-hour workshops covering five major topics via zoom.
