A Pirith Chanting ceremony was held on January 2nd at the senate building to invoke blessings on the university community at the turn of the new year – 2023. Clergy from all four major religions were involved in invoking blessings followed by taking oaths. The Vice-Chancellor Professor, MD. Lamawansa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Terrence Madhujith, Deans of Faculties, Acting Registrar, Mr. Mahinda Ekanayake, the Chief Marshal, Mr. Werahera, academic, executive and non-academic staff took part in the event which was streamed through the official youtube channel as a live event.
