Eighty saplings were planted along the Gampola and Galaha roads within the university lands to mark the 75th independence day. The University celebrates its 80th anniversary while the country is celebrating 75th independence. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Terrence Madhujith, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Udaya Dissanayake, Curators, Dr. Nalin Suranjith and Mr. Asantha Bandara, the Chief Security Officer, Public Relations Officer, Professor Chalinda Bneneragama and staff of the landscape division took part in the event held at the Faculty of Engineering.
