The National Research Council of Sri Lanka (NRC) confers the Presidential Awards annually to recognize the top 100 research papers published in journals with the highest SCImago Journal Ranking (SJR), where at least 20% of the authors are Sri Lankan scientists affiliated with a Sri Lankan institution. The Presidential Awards ceremony for 2019 and 2020 took place on November 21, 2023, at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exposition Centre of the BMICH in Colombo 07. Several researchers from the University of Peradeniya were honoured with Presidential Awards. The awardees are listed alphabetically, with the number of awards received by each individual indicated in parentheses. It is important to note that some awards were received jointly by two or more faculty members.
