The Vice-chancellor Prof. MD. Lamawansa accompanied by the Dean, Faculty of Management and Dr. Nuresh Eranda of Faculty of Management attended annual education exhibition held in Beijing on 8th April. The purpose was to promote the University of Peradeniya among Chinese students seeking overseas education. Over 150 international universities participated. The team visited the Open University in Beijing, the latest of its kind in the world. It has produced more than 24 million graduates so far, and about 5 million students are currently enrolled in the 45 centers located on different parts of China. Peradeniya team was appraised of the use of advance technology in conducting distance mode education. The open university was represented by a team headed by it’s Vice-President, Prof Fan Xianrui.
