The inaugural session of the Vice Chancellor’s Lecture Series was successfully conducted on December 13, 2023, at 1.00 p.m. in the Senate Room of the University of Peradeniya. The guest speaker for the event was Professor Wasantha Athukorala from the Department of Economics and Statistics, Faculty of Arts at the University of Peradeniya. Professor Athukorala delivered an insightful speech on “National Budget 2024”. The Vice Chancellor’s Lecture Series is an initiative of the Vice Chancellor, aiming to provide the University community with a distinctive opportunity to engage with and learn from eminent scholars in their respective fields of expertise. It serves as a platform for intellectual enrichment, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and knowledge within the academic community.
