The ninth session of the Vice Chancellor’s Lecture Series was successfully conducted on 18 th of December 2024 at 1.00 p.m. in the Senate Room of the University of Peradeniya.
The speaker for the event was Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya, Former Chairman of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka. Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya delivered an insightful and comprehensive speech on “Everything you need to know about elections in Sri Lanka” highlighting the main pillars of election, updated electoral register, and delimitation explaining the election process in Sri Lanka in detail.
The audience included the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Deans of the Faculties, Directors of Postgraduate Institutes and Centers, Heads of the Departments, as well as many academic and non-academic staff. The Vice Chancellor’s Lecture Series is aimed to provide the University community with a distinctive opportunity to engage with and learn from eminent speakers in their respective fields of expertise. It serves as a platform for intellectual enrichment, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and knowledge within the academic community.
