Prof. Min Yang and other professors from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and the Vice–Chancellor, Prof. MD. Lamawansa and academics of University of Peradeniya (UOP) visited Board of Investment (BOI) Pallekele on 11th of June, 2023. After a grand welcome from BOI, Chief guests, academics from UOP and officers of the BOI visited the KELUN LIFE SCIENCES (PVT) Ltd which stands as Sri Lanka’s only IV fluid manufacturing facility.
The discussions mainly included how the UOP collaborates and consults BOI for the advancements of environmental profile of the zones through activities such as conducting consultancy projects for waste management and drinking water quality improvement in BOI and university expressed its commitment to providing research students who can contribute their expertise to address anticipated environmental issues across various aspects of the industrial sector.
Furthermore The BOI expressed its keen interest in pursuing the Eco-Industrial concept, recognizing the need for consultancy and expertise in this field. The discussions were concluded successfully with the agreement of gathering again in two weeks for further discussions on the way forward regarding consultancy from University of Peradeniya, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and also water quality testing services from Joint Research & Demonstration Center for Water Technology (JRDC), with BOI to work towards the Eco-Industrial concept in BOI.
