Kick- off Meeting of the “Integrating Talent Development into Innovation Ecosystems in Higher Education“ (INNOTAL_KIK)

The Kick- off meeting of the “Integrating Talent Development into Innovation Ecosystems in Higher Education“(INNOTAL_KIK) funded by Erasmus+ Programme was held at the Benguet State University, Philippines during 19- 22 March 2018.

Representing the University of Peradeniya, Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana, Director, IAO, Prof. Nimal Dharmasena, Director, Career Guidance and Counselling Unit and Mr. E. A. R. M. Edirisinghe, Bursar took part in the meeting.

The meeting was focused on how to successfully implement the INNOTAL_KIK project in University of Peradeniya along with the assistance of the University staff members. Further, the rules and regulations in relation to the finance sector were explanied to the Bursar and the assembly thoroully discussed and advised on the ways of reducing the unemployability of the graduants, improving the innovation and the creativity of the University students.

At the meeting, two presentations were delivered by the representatives of University of Peradeniya. Consequently, Prof. Dharmaseana delivered a coherent presentation on the topic of “Higher Education and the Employability of Graduates in Sri Lanka” whereas Dr. Gunawardhana carried out on “Policies and Support Structures for Innvoation, Entrepreneurship and Graduate Employability in University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka”.

Under the INNOTAL_KIK project, University of Peradeniya could purchase the equipments required to conduct and continue the work and the funds have been already allocate by the EU. With this regard, University of Ruhuna, the counterpart of Sri Lanka will be working in relation with University of Peradeniya and the kick- off meeting was consisted with more than 50 participants, representing the countries of Bulgaria, Greece, Finland, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Philippines, India and Nepal.
