Workshop on Higher Degree Opportunities at Australian National University (ANU)

A Workshop on Higher Degree Opportunities at Australian National University (ANU) was held on the 05 June 2017 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya. Peter Christen, a Professor at the Research School of Computer Science (RSCS), ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) conducted the workshop. He has more than 150 publications and has H- and G-Index of 31 and 66, respectively. He is also supervising PhD students from Sri Lanka.

The workshop was aimed at providing information about the research and higher degree opportunities and scholarships available at the Australian National University (ANU) in the fields of computer science and engineering. The workshop included topics on Research at ANU, especially about Data mining projects at ANU and discussion with students and potential candidates. The workshop was concluded with a discussion among the representatives from the both Universities regarding potential collaborations between UoP and ANU.

The event was participated by about 75 members including students and staff members. It was jointly organized by the International Research Centre, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, and the Postgraduate Institute of Science.
