28th International Symposium on Transport Phenomena-2017

ISTP is hosted by Pacific Centre of Thermal Fluids Engineering which becomes one of the biggest international conferences in the area of Transport Phenomena and the 28th International Symposium on Transport Phenomena-2017(ISTP28) was held on the 22- 24 of September in University of Peradeniya. The Inauguration Ceremony was held at Amaya Hills Hotel and the Technical Sessions were carried out in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya.

The International Research Centre in collaboration with the Faculties of Agriculture, Engineering and Science of University of Peradeniya organized the whole event. Chairpersons of the ISTP28 Prof. Leelananda Rajapakshe, Dean/ Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Saluka Kodithuwakku, Dean/ Faculty of Science, Prof. Gamini Pushpakumara, Dean/ Faculty of Agriculture and conference coordinators of Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana, Director InRC, Dr. Shameen Jinadasa, Faculty of Engineering, Masaru Ishizuka and Sadanari Mochizuki, Pacific Center of Thermal Fluids Engineering along with the local and international Committee Members were the guiders behind this successful event.

The event was enlightened by the Chief Guest, Mr. Joern Rohde, his Excellency the Ambassador, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Sri Lanka. Prof. Yasuyuki Takata, Kyushu University, Japan, Prof. Satish G. Kandlikar, Rochester Institute of Technology, USA and Prof. Weeratunge Malalasekera, Wolfson School of Mechanical Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering Loughborough University, UK marked their presenece as the well distingushed Keynote Speakers from the international contetxt. Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake, Vice- Chancellor of University of Peradeniya and Prof. R.L. Wijeyeweera, Deputy Vice- Chancellor of University of Peradeniya were also presented on behalf of University of Peradeniya.

The participation of more than 08 international countries for the symposium further assured its massive importance amongst the intellectuals and organizing this symposium was one of the remarkable gigantic steps for the University of Peradeniya while making it as a unique platform for the mass in relevance.

The 28th symposium, encapsulated approximately 175 eminent international and national scientists, researches, engineers and scholars from all over the world and it will circumstance to promote the science and development while benefitting the country as a whole.
