Student Exchange Program of Tokyo Institute of Technology and University of Peradeniya -2017

A Japanese delegation consists of 08 students and 02 staff members of Tokyo Institute of Japan visited University of Peradeniya on 20 August 2017. The student Exchange Program was scheduled for 05 days in Sri Lanka and a special discussion between the delegates and the Deputy Vice- Chancellor, University of Peradeniya was held on 21 August 2017 at the office of the Deputy Vice- Chancellor, University of Peradeniya at 9.00 am.

The Deputy Vice- Chancellor, University of Peradeniya warmly welcomed the Japanese delegates and he further discussed the long term and strong academic relationships between the Tokyo Institute of Technology and University of Peradeniya. In further discussions he brought out the fact that being one of the well known and standard Universities in Japan, how the Tokyo Institute of Technology gives out hands to expand the knowledge and experiences of students and staff via international student exchange programs and its beneficiaries.

Prof. Ananda Kumara, Program Coordinator of the Global Human Resources Development Program, TIT and the Dean, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Meijo University, Japan along with Miho Murata, Supportive Staff, Global Human Resources Development, TIT explicated the academic purposes of the visit and the enthusiasm of the students in studying the Sri Lankan aspects and the value of the opportunity they gain through this sort of exchange programs.

The students who took part in the discussion also elaborated their opinions and they marked their gratitude towards everyone who is behind this program. The discussion thoroughly emphasized the fact that this sort of students exchange programs should be continued for the academic advantage of the students along with the purpose of developing international relationships between Universities and further in advance sharing social and cultural values of communities.

Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana, Director InRC marked his presence on behalf of the International Research Centre who was hosting the Japanese delegates on behalf of University of Peradeniya.
