The welcome ceremony of the new entrants to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science was held at the Department of Farm Animal Production and Health Auditorium on 10th January 2023. The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and the Deans of Faculties of University of Peradeniya. Dr. NMT. Anupama, coordinator of the orientation programme welcomed the gathering. Vice- Chancellor, Prof. MD. Lamawansa, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, Prof. PGA. Pushpakumara, Mr. Anupama Sandakelum, Secretary, Veterinary Students Union also addressed the gathering. Best academic and research awardees were appraised at the occasion by delivering the medals and certificates. An incoming student of the batch of 2020/2021 shared the experience of “Prevet Exposure Programme”, where students were exposed to a short training in Veterinary offices, hospitals, clinics, zoos and wildlife rehabilitation centers around the country for the first time. The new undergraduate students of the Batch 2020/2021 academic year and their parents were present on the occasion.
