The Department of Radiography/Radiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya and the Society of Medical Radiation Sciences, University of Peradeniya, collaboratively organized X-PERTS 2024, celebrating World Radiography Day 2024 where it signified the indispensable role of radiographers in healthcare, highlighting their expertise in diagnosis and treatment. It was an inspiring event presented under this year’s official theme, “Promoting the Profession”
The event was held on 6th November 2024 from 01.00pm to 4.30pm in the Main Lecture Hall of the faculty premises.

These distinguished professionals shared insights from their diverse experiences in radiography, ranging from pioneering MRI work in the UK to managing radiology services in Sri Lanka’s leading private hospitals.
In addition, the department organized exciting competitions where the participants and the winners were appreciated and awarded with certificates during the main event.

Debate Competition – Students exchanged ideas on pressing topics in radiography
X-PERTS 2024 was a successful event which brought together students, faculty, and esteemed guest speakers to discuss advancements in medical imaging and showcase the impact of radiography on patient care and healthcare systems.
