The University Experience

The University of Peradeniya is heir to the  University of Ceylon which was established in 1942.  It is the largest and best-endowed university in Sri Lanka. It has eight faculties (schools) and 72 academic departments, an undergraduate enrolment of approximately 9000 and a postgraduate enrolment of approximately 2000. It has a diverse student body with students representing all geographic regions and ethnic communities of the country, as well as several international students.
