Donation of Student Cupboards to Sarasavi Medura Hall
Eighty-seven teak student cupboards, which had been stored at Ramanathan Hall since 2017, were formally donated to the Sarasavi Medura Girls’ Hostel. Generously provided by a donor from the United Kingdom who wishes to remain anonymous, each cupboard can be shared by two to four students, offering much-needed secure and organized storage for residents.
The cupboards, with an estimated current market value of approximately Rs. 11 million, were ceremonially handed over to the students of Sarasavi Medura Hall on March 17.
The Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Director of Accommodation, Warden, past wardens, sub-warden, and several student residents, along with staff of the Student Accommodation Division, were present at the occasion. The event was modestly organized by the Student Accommodation Division.
